About US

Kevin Robertson

Ex fitness freak making a comeback... Over the years I have participated in a wide range of sports and outdoor activities and assisted in coaching several different sports from soccer and rugby to assisting with outdoor recreation training in kayaking and rock climbing.

Born in Auckland, Cantabrian at heart! Worked in the agricultural industry once left school around the Canterbury area before joining the New Zealand Police were I worked for 3 and half years in West Auckland.

After leaving the Police I ventured back to Christchurch, where I was introduced to Barbara Millar in 2010. I participated in and helped Barbara with the organisation of the 2010 Shoe Clinic Blokes Triathlon Series. After participating I saw the potential and the ability the events had in getting blokes off the couch and out and about getting fit and having fun in doing it.

My goal is to grow the Triathlon Series and encourage and help Blokes of all ages to set a goal and achieve it while having fun and keeping fit.

I admit it....I have been a sport addict all my life.  In the very early days I spent hours and hours in the Centennial Pool training for inter-club swimming champs, I tried as many sports possible through school, progressed to surf life saving and water polo in my teenage years and then discovered social and club running, triathlon and multisport in my 20's+ So yes I have been around! Over the past 20 years a large amount of my focus has been in organising events as I developed a mission to encourage woman to give triathlon and duathlon a go.  During this time I also have organised many other triathlons, duathlons, multisport and running events in Canterbury and been an active member of the Canterbury Triathlon Club committee and involved in other iconic Canterbury events.

During the past  few years it has become apparent to me that the blokes of Canterbury and New Zealand had been left behind while there has been a major focus on encouraging woman.  This has led me to another major mission.  To encourage you and other males to get active and experience the fun that woman have been having for years.

So guys my challenge to you is to join me on this mission.  Make it your mission to encourage as many blokes as you can to get out there and give this fantastic sport a go.  It is not just about winning, it is about taking on a challenge, giving guys a reason to get and stay fit, learning something new, having fun and making great friends along the way.  If I have a water pistol in my hand when you finish - be ready to run fast!
